On Sunday, April 4 2010 the fans and audience trickled into the impromptu “stadium” at the front steps of Nike Sportswear 21 Mercer flagship store in SoHo. With the National Anthem echoed across Grand and Canal Street, it also marked the start of the first ever NYC Stickball Tournament. The MC of the event was by Q-Tip, the announcement of team members from “21 Mercernaries”, in Navy, and “DonDidIt” in White was awesome. Though pitches are never included in stickball, in time honor tradition, the “first pitch” went to FUTURA. via SneakerMeStupid
WOW wish I was there.. I grew up watching my dad play stick ball in Harlem and it a fun game.. looks like they had a blast.
