As part of the inaugural World Basketball Festival – brought together by Converse, the Jordan Brand and Nike Basketball – recording artist JAY-Z will take the stage at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Thursday August 12, 2010, following an on-court showcase featuring finalists for the 2010 USA Basketball World Championship Team.
In addition to his performance, JAY-Z has joined forces with Nike to create an iconic collection of Air Force Ones – the All Black Everything collection inspired by the World Basketball Festival. Nike has donated the shoes to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation who in turn have linked up with eBay on a charity auction that begins on August 12th at www.ebay.com/jayznikewbf. Only two pairs of each of the five designs will be created, one for the winning bidder and one for the man behind the design, JAY-Z.

A: The winning bidder will receive a custom pair of NIKE Air Force 1s, designed by JAY-Z, in their size. The shoes will come in a box with a letter of authenticity from NIKE.
Q: WHAT CUSTOMIZATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE?
A: The All Black Everything design direction means that each shoe is dominated by one color, with the outsole and sock liner showing glimpses of the inspiration of the competing nations in the World Basketball Festival, as does the selection of the materials used in the upper. The transparent outsole has an All Black Everything logo lying within it that has been illustrated to bring a colorful representation of the WBF teams to the product, with the sock liner following the same direction. The upper materials for each shoe were inspired by their uniqueness to each country. The shoe designed with France in mind speaks to the high level of craftsmanship of Europe using premium leathers to give the product a dress-shoe-like look and feel.
