cARTERhas been on the underground hip hop scene for some time now. I’ve personally been listening to his music since I started listening to Dom Kennedy. Listening to songs like “Houston Summer” ft. Bun B, and “For Better or Worse” give you a plain picture of where he stands lyrically. He’s not your run of the mill hipster that took up rap because it was the cool thing to do. He’s certified. And on the same note, he’s not just a rapper who became fashionable in order to support an image.
You can tell from this interview that he makes calculated. He does what comes naturally both musically, and fashionably. If it gets him recognition GREAT! But if it’s not, you can’t say he was trying to make it by being someone he’s not. I really enjoyed this interview. Always good to meet someone behind the music your a fan of. But cARTER is a genuinely cool dude. He showed a lot more love to us than some of our “local” talent and it was all off GP… We hope to do more with him and people of his caliber. STAYDOWNFOREVER
