Jay-Z has partnered with Pharrell Williams’s Billionaire Boys’ Club Clothing, he did not buy out BBC like GQ Magazine reported. So no, BBC has not been sold to Mr. Carter like Nigo sold Bape to Hong Kong-based retailer I.T. Basically, Jay-Z is “licensing” Billionaire Boys Club, meaning they will make and distribute BBC’s products as opposed to BBC solely doing all the manufacturing and distribution. Pharrell is supposed to retain creative control. I am curious to see if the clothing designs will change, as I believe Sk8Thing does most of the designing. The marketing and distrubtuion behind the clothing line is sure to increase. Could this mean flagship stores? Possibly in LA? Chicago? London? Atlanta? Be on the lookout for the evolution of this move.
