Lyle LeDuff is a producer who hails from New Orleans but currently resides in Atlanta. We met during the last Nike Air Yeezy campout. During our conversation he mentioned he was interning for Don Cannon. Our mutual friend VinceKnows suggested we link up & try to get some songs done. We would listen to his beats, talk
music & insert stories about
sneakers & women to break the monotony. The first thing that caught my attention was the quality of his music. He was good. Great even, especially for him to be relatively unknown. Since then he’s gone from intern to signed producer on Cannon Music. As time passed he managed to maintain the quality of his work while upping the output of his music. I remember hearing “Brand New Guy” back when it was “Epic Room”. Listening to the beat didn’t make me think of anything or anyone I could compare it to. Trying to imagine who would be on it just left me more confused. In that context I think its fitting that his first national placement was on a much anticipated mixtape from a relatively unknown rapper. Now A$AP is larger than life. Lyle is continuing to navigate his way thorough this world of music & business & make a name for himself. That shouldn’t be to hard. He’s a history of making connection & building relationship with big names in the industry, strictly by being himself. Don Cannon, Greg Street, DJ Infamous, & now A$AP Rocky just to name drop a few. It’s good to see someone expressing themselves artistically & still managing to stay himself. Even down to his title. Not knocking anyone who uses a personality or false name to do business, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Now Just Blaze is rich. And if Lyle can stay consistent, he should be too. God Bless…
