Miller Lite Stand Up

Four syllables. Hi-ler-ee-ous! The show was jammed packed with people, booze and jokes. Center Stage held an awesome and honest audience. Judges: Joe Clair (DMV shout out), Wanda Smith, and Kevin Hart were in place with their own jokes. Who knew Joe could recite that East Africanish verse from Kanye’s Mercy? Showing up and showing out, were the comedians Amina, Landry, Shaun and Mia. DJ Baby Yu provided the musical enchantment and V10.3′s Ryan Cameron was an excellent host. Ryan was suited and booted, too, gotdem.

The energy was high before the event began. I was swindled into wearing a blue dress, black pumps and earrings. Chile, I was extra. The beverage list for the night? None other than Miller Lite products. You girl had her first beer here. Not bad. I had Leine’s Berry Weiss, a flavored variety. Afraid I would get tipsy, I began asking for a ride home via text message. Who knew I could hold my liquor?! Steven Canal, MillerCoors SE Field Marketing Manager, gave me a shout out for being a newbie and enjoying it .

The Miller Lite girls, under the direction of The Garner Circle, were on hand as adjutants and bartenders. The talent was amazing. The joke that Landry, Atlanta’s winner, said about “going black” was witty. The semi-finals brought out some of Atlanta’s glitz, glam and go-getters. There was no reason not to have enjoyed yourself. I even sat next to a part of Kevin Hart’s  management. “I’s kind. I’s smart and I’s important”. Don’t worry I won’t let it get to my head…’til Sneaker Friends.

The Stand Up tour just wrapped up all four cities – Atlanta (Landry), New Orleans (Redbean), Charlotte (Luke Curry) and Chicago (Willie Lynch Jr). The Finale will be in Las Vegas where the finalists will compete for the title and $10,000. Can I hold $5? You have the opportunity to join in on the fun if you aren’t fortunate enough to win the VIP trip to Finale in Vegas. There was a small stage where people could try their hand at standup and those videos are available on the Stand Up website. There were freebies all around. I was handed the first thing not made in China since kindergarten – a bottle opener. which I will be using on this ginger beer. You can also vote for your favorite comedian.
