MAGIC Tradeshow Day 1 – Customized Greatly “Mookee by Yuske” & “F as in Frank”

Day one we started off at S.L.A.T.E. This is MAGIC’s urban (street wear) section. Here you find major street wear labels like RockSmith, 10.Deep, & Mishka. You also have up & coming lines. These are the type of brands that really depend on the platform that MAGIC provides. They Get to showcase their best pieces to clients that interested in purchasing new & innovative lines as well as their staple brands.

Personalizing garments has been a big part street wear culture. During the mid 80′s a tailor Dapper Dan made a name for himself by adorning active wear apparel with high fashion prints. Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Fendi, etc. This concept, although popular, isn’t always executed well. Mookee by Yuske is the exception. Yuske describes his showcase as an example of what he likes to wear personally. He combines high end labels with different denim to make original pieces. He also has garments that consist of deconstructed bags & jeans. Attention to detail also makes Yuske’s line a standout on the S.L.A.T.E. showroom floor.

Thrifting for vintage pieces has become a sub-culture of urban fashion. So much so that brands like F as in Frank make it their business to obtain the highest quality vintage sports wear. They’re knows for their snapbacks & sportswear pieces, but they’ve also added customized designer pieces. From tiger striped bleached polos & crew necks, to reconstructed denims & flannels. Originality is in abundant supply.
