The Queen City stepped out in full force for Sneaker Con. Held at the e Queen City’s Grady Cole Center, Charlotte’s unique sneaker culture had it first opportunity to see how Sneaker Con goes down. Our correspondent Alvin C. Jacobs Jr. was in the building & got some really good shots of the happenings. Glad to see real sneaker heads still supporting the culture positively. Trinidad Jame$ – All Good Everything Premier

Trinidad Jame$ has risen fast in the indie music ranks here in Atlanta. The movement he’s created is so strong that his first video from his first project “Don’t Be S.A.F.E.” had a large enough buzz to pack a movie theater. The “All Gold Everything” video was shot by the critically acclaimed Motion Family camera crew. They were also in attendence for the preimer. Atlanta Got Sole was in the house to support as well. Maurice Garland hosted the event & even did a brief Q&A with the artist. We wish Trinidad Jame$ all the success. Keep grinding homie! If you haven’t already download Don’t Be S.A.F.E. now!

Modefabriek 2012 Day 2: Converse, Jacky Luxury, Shabbies Amsterdam

The second day of Modefabriek was again, more exploring. This time we took a look at the footwear collections of Converse, Jacky Luxury, Shabbies Amsterdam, Sebago, Pastry, Filling Pieces and Van Gils. We also talked to Ontfront which is an amazing store based in Amsterdam. More on Ontfront will feature later this week. We will also feature the latest Herschel collection which you already saw a sneak peek of on Twitter page.

Modefabriek 2012 Day 1: Wemoto, Ontour, BlueBlood

This was Atlanta Got Sole’s first time at Modefabriek and we can honestly say that we enjoyed every bit of it. Talking to brands, seeing their latest collection and meeting new people. Day 1 of Modefabriek was kind of exploring the entire location, walking around and making lots of pictures.

The most interesting area to us was the BLUEPRINT area. This area is an unpolished platform that brings together insiders capable of devising innovative new designs for denim and contemporary streetwear by reinventing our favourite wardrobe classics, constructing a new, relevant authenticity and re-injecting a love of craftsmanship and detail into the process.

We managed to stop by a couple of brands such as Wemoto, Ontour and BlueBlood to capture the latest collection which should drop in 2013. Take a look at the pictures below!

New Artist Alert! Atlanta rapper & “Souf-Side” resident Trinidad James released the single from his debut project “Don’t Be S.A.F.E.” A couple of weeks ago. We’d been meaning to post this as soon as we got it, but time & unforseen occurances… You know how it is. This joint is entitled “All Gold Everything”. Look for more from this artist soon. Teen+Aid Charity Event

Last month The Microsoft store at Lenox mall opened up their doors for a special event. Teen+Aid, a non-profit that focuses on providing necessities for local Atlanta teens in need. Atlanta Got Sole, The Jeanocide, & Teen+Aid got together with the help of some sponsors to have some fun & learn a few things too. A virtual dance contest with giveaways as well as a tutorial on editing your own movies was held. Don Cannon hosted & our friends from TheShoeGame.com & Yummi Sweets came out to support.

Inside The Events: Museumnacht Amsterdam 2011

26.000 tickets completely sold out in just over 2 weeks. Luckily, I was one of those 26.000 privileged people to visit the highly anticipated Museumnacht in Amsterdam.

Museumnacht is a night in Amsterdam where you can visit 45 different musea in the city. They are all open from 7pm until 2am and lots of activities take place inside every museum. Think live music, special tours and food & drinks. And I mean, who doesn’t want to visit a museum by night?

I’ve seen lots of things. From an impressive bag collection at the bag museum Tassenmuseum Hendrikje to an impassioned performance of a jazz trio at the Portugese Synagoge to a beautiful Welsch Contredanse at the Geelvinck Museum.

I’ve made a couple of bad decisions, but hey, this was just my first year. There will definitely be more years to follow.

Basically every activity at FOAM photography museum
Workshop Astronomy and Music by 22tracks at the Scheepvaartmuseum

Atlanta Got Sole x VIBE Vixen: Chicks Who Love Kicks

As many of you already noticed, we were featured on the VIBE Vixen website yesterday. The spread is called Chicks Who Love Kicks and is modeled by the beautiful Ilysha McMillan. The vision for this Vibe Vixen contribution is a spin off of our direction for an ongoing NSFW (New Shoes, Fine Woman) project of Atlanta Got Sole. We wanted to show you the art of a beautiful woman in combination with the latest exclusive sneakers. The entire shoot took place in a suite of the Atlanta Perimeter Hotel & Suites. The creative direction for this project was a collaboration within a collaboration: with pulling varying looks and feels, meshing the street flair of sneakers with the allure of Ilysha was a task left up to proper posing and lighting. By compositing multiple looks in a single frame, it was easy to break the barriers specific styles and colorways created. – Thomas Wilson II, Media Director

Giving respect to the audience, we wanted to combine an upclose look at the newest, unreleased sneakers, combined with a beautiful “vixen” and location. Keeping the shoes elevated, while in a lux enviroment was key to our vision. – Christina Madison, Art Director

Being a lowkey female sneaker head and an avid visitor of vibe.com, I knew exactly how I wanted the shoot to look for the site. I went with the looks that came right to me: classy, sexy, fun and sporty! – Christina Rivera, Stylist

For this shoot, I wanted the makeup to be simple, yet still sexy enough to just enhance Ily’s natural beauty. Her bone structure is phenomenal and she has beautiful eyes, so creating a cat eye with a rosy cheek and a red lip for a pop of color was the simplest way to bring her face to life without over doing it. – Ashley Gray, Make-up

AGS Up Close: Air Jordan 2.0 – Cool Grey/Cement

The Air Jordan 2.0 – Cool Grey/Cement comes off as a seamless combination of two classic shoes. Some may consider this to be just your basic fusion but I see it a little different.

The Jordan 2 to many people was that Jordan you either adored or just plain disliked. Complaints range from comfort to plainly just not liking the over all silhouette.

Well at least the comfort part has been hit square on the head. The air max sole addition to this shoe is one that is greatly appreciated by me and many others I’m sure. The best part of this shoe is the Jordan 2 aspect is fully intact but its just has been given a little more comfort that you dont expect from a Jordan 2.
